Boston College wide receiver Kobay White had ACL surgery Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season.
White, who had a team-high 29 catches for 469 yards and five touchdowns in 2019, did not participate in the Eagles' season-opening 26-6 win at Duke on Saturday.
"Kobay had surgery on his ACL yesterday so he will be out for the year," head coach Jeff Hafley said Wednesday. "I didn't want to say anything, I wanted him to have his surgery and clear his head and not have to read about it all over the media.
"So, out of respect for him I wanted to make sure everything went OK and everything did go OK and he's on to recovery. We'll miss him. He's not only a great player but a great leader and he'll be back."
A graduate student with one year of eligibility remaining, White has 96 career receptions for 1,409 yards and 10 touchdowns in 38 games for Boston College.
